Breaker Breaker Space Trucker

In the winter of 2016, I and some friend from the Pixelated Pickaxe online community (PPX) attempted an entry into the Ludum Dare 37 game jam. Ludum Dare is a 48 hour game development competition where teams bring a game from idea to delivery. The theme for LD37 was ‘One Room’ and the PPX team created the concept of a management simulation game that became known as Breaker Breaker Space Trucker, or Space Trucker in short.

Space Trucker involved a player controlling a singular character in a large room that was the player’s ‘space truck’. In the spirit of popular simulator games like Euro Truck Simulator, you, the player, must deliver cargo across the galaxy and keep everything on your vessel in good working order. The idea was, as the player advanced through the game, new regions and cargos would be unlocked, and new upgradable parts would be made available.

I was in charge of design the main visual assets of the game, including the space truck itself and its various subcomponents.

Unfortunately, our team was unable to complete the game in time and the project was abandoned afterwards by the rest of the team.
